Money makes the world go round and chasing it with Information makes it flatter !
So, money, wealth and Information engineering and management is pivotal for development in any sphere in today’s world.

My perception is that money and wealth were created and changed hands through various ways – ethical and otherwise in the past, present and future depends on money and resources engineering and management for development of creamy layer and other layers too of the peoples of the world. The pace of development depends on the efficient management of resources more professionally.

The world is flat - thanks to the exponential pace of development in IT.
The natural resources are being devoured by developed and developing countries at a mind-boggling rate.

With the fast paced exploitation of natural resources and economies of the world through technologies developed through rapid strides in science and engineering has offered the following managerial challenges :

1. Environment pollution causing threat to flora, fauna and human species.

2. Manifest imbalance in the human economic, societal structure and nature.

3.Faster wealth creation cornered by a miniscule population in the world ie., the creamy layer in the urban and the developed countries with minor percentatge of population.

4.The disparity between the monied, mediocre and the poor is ever growing due to the over capitalistic, politically orchestrated, institutionalized systems in the world.

5. While World wars may not take place at all in future as each major country in the world is having credible nuclear and military deterrence, destruction and reconstruction due to war will not take place at all. Destruction and reconstruction will only be due to earth quakes, floods and other natural calamities, which in all likelihood will increase.

6. How to bring about an inclusive growth in developing economies through democratic political systems and models thereby reducing the divide between the rich and the poor.
How to incorporate professional management into political management, thereby cleanse the system and negate the corrupt and nefarious ways to acquire political power.

7. How to integrate the self-development focus with societal development ( wealth with welfare orientation).

8. How to evolve a system for equal empowerment of women in all developmental models for a well balanced and faster economic growth.

9. How to overhaul and reinvent relevant education systems – country specific, group specific so that all those systems will invariably focus on inclusive growth. Sectoral growth sets aside poor who are regrouped by negatively grown elements as terrorists and fundamentalists who have disaster specific education and training systems around the world.

From a segmented perspective of tropical countries like India, my impression is :
- India’s 75 % of the Billion plus population lives/ suffers in rural India.

- Tropical countries have rich inexhaustible source of energy – the Sunlight.
Production and efficient management of solar energy.

- Manifold increase in agriculture and agrobased industries, food production, preservation , processing , storage, distribution worldwide through professional management. Integration of technology and IT in every aspect of agriculture production , processing and marketing.

- Creation of substantial funds for research in clean energy that is economically viable.

- Revamping education system through greater and focused research involving professionally qualified ( not just educationists but also people who are professional managers, economists, health experts, earth science experts, environment experts, successful and a few failed industrialists after success, social scientists and the gamut of experts in the field of science, technology, philosophy, sports, culture, yoga, meditation, medicine etc) people.

Since the world is dynamic, so too are the people. Old order changeth yielding place to new. This warrants equipping the world with well qualified and well meaning people with good academics and well trained managerially – young and old blend of change agents/ engineers who will have to create not only wealth and manage resources but also ensure smooth transition to such drastic change and implement it too.

Over centuries and decades the world and the product ( people & resources) have been changing through evolutions as also devolutions. But through information explosion, the entire earth has literally become flat. People need not repeat the mistakes which others have already committed in their quest for speedier growth and development in various fields of endeavour. This perhaps calls for professionally qualified change agents/ engineers/ managers as opposed to non professional change agents.

The best of the management schools in the developed countries could only have the development models and case studies related to their already developed world in a different context of time and space. Their past success and training methodology may not necessarily and fully relevant to the fast developing 3rd world like India with vast cultural diversities. Perhaps that’s the reason why “Mumbai’s Dabbawallas” is a case study in the Harvard Management school and Mahabharata is a prescribed text book /case study at the Wharton Business School.
Being an Indian and having traveled and trained in a couple of developed countries in my specified field –IT, who else but the IIM which perhaps excels in producing such change engineers/managers who were/are instrumental in the corporate world as change agents/ catalysts of change in the developed world and also in the developing world as India through professional personal endeavors and thro’ the corporate world , hone my skills for personal growth as a better change manager.

The kind of blend which well established IIMs, I think, have in all spheres of business and resources and wealth management nationally and interanationally should be my most preferred choice to hone my skill sets in effective management of my chosen fileld, with inclination towards inclusive growth, apart from self.
